What are plastic credits?
Plastic credits are a market-based mechanism designed to incentivise the reduction, removal, or recycling of plastic waste. Similar to carbon credits, plastic credits represent the quantifiable reduction of plastic pollution and can be bought and sold to support projects combatting plastic waste. By purchasing plastic credits, businesses can offset their own plastic footprint and support initiatives that promote recycling infrastructure, waste management systems, education, and other measures aimed at reducing plastic pollution and promoting a circular economy.
We use proven plastic waste collection and recycling methodologies developed collaboratively with experts and stakeholders and regularly reviewed for effectiveness in evaluating plastic-removal project impacts.
Each of our plastic credits purchased represents 1,000 kg of plastic cleaned up and recycled. By buying plastic credits, you help reduce the amount of plastic waste ending up in our oceans, harming marine life and disrupting delicate ecosystems.
