Xpansiv is set to expand its digital infrastructure into one of the UK’s most challenging sustainability-related sectors, after being chosen by energy efficiency certification agency Quidos to build a dedicated carbon registry for the country’s buildings and construction industries. The platform, named BEVerify, is expected to go live in early 2026 and will underpin a new class of credits tied to emissions reductions across the built environment—a sector responsible for roughly 40% of global carbon output.

The initiative is designed to streamline how carbon reductions are measured, verified, and ultimately monetised. Built on Xpansiv’s existing registry technology, BEVerify is intended to reduce long-standing bottlenecks in a sector that includes everything from retrofits and building operations to new construction and material supply chains.
‘Its advanced architecture combines automated validation, real-time data integration, and API-driven interoperability to meaningfully accelerate credit issuance’, the companies said in a joint statement.

According to Xpansiv and Quidos, the platform will offer ‘end-to-end transparency and scalability’ by integrating granular data tracking with predictive data checks to support monitoring and reporting. The goal is to replace legacy systems that ‘are slow, paper-based, and costly, with project registration, credit issuance, and verification stretching over several years’, the firms said.
A core feature of BEVerify will be its Digital MRV capabilities, allowing API-linked building management systems to feed real-time performance data directly into the registry. Credits will be issued based on measured reductions rather than modelled estimates, with Quidos noting that projects will receive verified credits daily so developers ‘will get immediate financial value’ for their credits. Quidos’ AI-powered BEScope system will also be integrated to automate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions reporting.
The development marks a significant extension of Xpansiv’s registry licensing into the built environment, a sector known for complex supply chains and opaque emissions data, particularly for materials such as cement, steel, and metals. As pressure mounts across the UK economy to deliver steep emissions cuts over the coming decades, demand for verifiable, high-quality data and carbon accounting tools continues to accelerate.

As digital innovation reshapes how emissions are measured and verified across the built environment, one trend is unmistakable: credible environmental action depends on accurate data, transparent systems, and solutions that deliver real, measurable impact. Platforms like BEVerify show how advanced monitoring can accelerate carbon accounting in complex sectors—yet technology alone cannot close the gap. At Green Earth, we pair rigorous data frameworks with large-scale, nature-based restoration programmes designed to generate high-quality carbon units grounded in ecological integrity. For organisations looking to balance unavoidable emissions while contributing to healthier, more resilient landscapes, our approach offers a trusted and future-ready pathway—setting the stage for your next step with Green Earth.
