Radisson Hotel Group has announced the debut of its first two Verified Net Zero hotels, setting a new benchmark for sustainable hospitality. Located in Manchester and Oslo, these properties have been verified by TÜV Rheinland to meet the Net Zero Methodology for Hotels standards, addressing emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

The Radisson Hotel Manchester City Centre, formerly the Park Inn, completed its sustainable overhaul in May 2025. Oslo's counterpart is scheduled to reopen in July 2025 as Radisson RED Oslo City Centre. Both hotels operate solely on renewable energy and have fully electrified systems, eliminating the use of fossil fuels. Manchester’s site uses heat pumps for hot water and induction systems in its kitchens, while the Oslo hotel connects to the city’s renewable district heating network.
These developments mark a critical evolution in Radisson’s environmental strategy. Alongside direct emissions reductions, the company is tackling Scope 3 emissions through more sustainable supply chains, improved food services, and lower-impact transport practices. Any residual emissions are offset via Agreena’s nature-based carbon removals, which support regenerative agriculture projects across Europe.

Guests can expect a sustainable stay without compromising on quality, with low-waste operations, environmentally-conscious dining, and entirely renewable energy usage. In partnership with Klimato, Radisson has redesigned its menus to display carbon footprint information and reduce meal-related emissions by up to 40%.
‘Today, we are demonstrating that Net Zero conversion hotels are possible. In a conversion approach, the Manchester and Oslo hotels prove that non-sustainable hotels can become high performing asset classes with a positive impact on the planet’, said Federico J. González, Executive Vice Chairman at Radisson Hotel Group. ‘These Verified Net Zero hotels bring the future forward and offer guests the pinnacle of sustainable stays.’
With this milestone, Radisson positions itself as a leader in nature-forward hospitality, providing fully net-zero experiences for guests and paving the way for similar conversions across the industry.
