Meta, the tech company behind Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has opened its 2025 Request for Proposals (RfP) as part of its ongoing mission to reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across its value chain by 2030.

Now in its third consecutive year, the RfP initiative focuses on identifying high-impact emissions reduction projects within Meta’s supply chain, particularly targeting hard-to-abate industrial sectors. According to the company, the 2025 call for proposals will prioritise value chain interventions in the following areas:
These sectors represent some of the largest contributors to Meta’s Scope 3 emissions—the indirect emissions from its suppliers and value chain partners. The company is looking to collaborate with organisations that can develop or scale solutions capable of driving measurable reductions.

To participate, interested parties must first complete an intake request form and execute a mutual non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Meta, unless one is already in place. Both the NDA and the RfP will be distributed by 12:00 PM Pacific Time on 18 July 2025. Final project proposals must be submitted by noon Pacific Time on 19 September 2025.
Meta stated that it will evaluate all submissions and notify participants of its decisions in November. At that point, selected projects may move forward for further collaboration, while proposals that do not meet due diligence standards will also be informed of their status.
With a growing corporate focus on Scope 3 decarbonisation, Meta’s open call presents a significant opportunity for innovative developers and suppliers to contribute to environmentally aligned business transformation at scale.
